Protect Your Pets & Family From Dangerous Pests

Tick on Leaf

What Are Ticks?

Ticks are small, parasitic arachnids that feed on the blood of humans and animals. These pests latch onto  a variety of hosts in search of their next meal, often transmitting dangerous tick-borne illnesses, such as Lyme disease, in the process.

Weed Man’s Tick Control Service

Ticks thrive in a variety of outdoor environments and aren’t picky when it comes to finding a host...just about any warm-blooded mammal will do! To help keep you and your family safe, Weed Man offers a tick control service with the goal being to eliminate these pests from your property and prevent further tick activity.

How does the program work?

To get started, request a free quote. This will connect you with your locally owned and operated Weed Man team and get you started with a tick control program that’s right for your yard.

Once you have signed up for a treatment program for your yard, a technician will visit your property and perform a liquid pest control application that will last for between 4-5 weeks. The application can be performed on its own, or in conjunction with a regular lawn care treatment program.

For optimal results, our technicians will apply a residual insecticide along property lines and around structures such as dog houses, kennels, sidewalks, pathways, or patios to help protect against ticks around the home. Turf areas that are of importance to observe for ticks include those adjacent to forested areas, stonewalls, ornamental plantings, and other areas where there is overgrown vegetation. If potential hosts are present, locations where they may encounter ticks – including bedding and areas where they rest – should be treated as well.

Stay Safe!

It’s always best to err on the side of caution when it comes to ticks. Weed Man recommends wearing long sleeves/pants and close-toed shoes when in densely-vegetated areas. Clothing layers, body parts, and hair should be closely inspected for ticks after any outdoor activity (remember: they can be as small as a poppy seed!).  If you have pets, check fur, ears, and paws regularly for any signs of ticks.
